Logistics redefines

New paths for transparent customer service

Production management forms the backbone of the company. The connection with logistics management is crucial, especially for production processes and technologies. These determine how materials and information flow as well as the planning of supply and supply chain management (SCM). At Follmann, SCM focuses on our production planning. This includes demand-orientated production according to your customer requirements. Our SCM team works closely with our customer service team to ensure smooth processing. We store everything we need to produce our range on our premises — raw materials and intermediate products. Our warehouses are located in the immediate vicinity of our production areas. We have a huge high-bay warehouse on our premises for the so-called finished goods that customers can order and which we then deliver. However, we also manufacture goods individually for customers: so-called Made-to-order items.

Follmann has its own
warehouses on the company premises
and organises all services
around the delivery.

Tailor-made logistics solutions:

From order to delivery

Follmann sets new standards in customer service!
At Follmann, we go the extra mile to ensure that your logistics needs are perfectly met. We understand that logistics can make all the difference to your business. That’s why we work closely with you to develop customised logistics concepts. Do you need a special label for incoming goods or individual palletisation? If we know these details at an early stage, we can integrate them into the planning process and offer you real added value. Our aim is to minimise your stress and ensure that everything runs smoothly — from start to finish.

At Follmann, you always know the status of your order.
The order is always delivered in close coordination between Customer Service and Production Planning. We plan production according to the orders. We also offer other traditional services:

  • We pack the goods for customers.
  • We pick consignments individually if customers want different products.
  • We organise transport on the desired delivery date or at a desired time.

Our services at a glance

Would you like to be able to track the delivery of your goods in real time? We are happy to fulfil individual customer requests and try something new. The following services are part of our offer. Please contact us if you have any special requirements regarding the transport of your order. We differentiate ourselves not only through the quality of our products or the price. Additional services also round off our range.

Smart Labels

On request, we use smart labels such as radio frequency identification (RFID). They help to optimise logistical processes. They are easy to produce and read. The passive RFID transponders can be integrated into conventional labels. They are superior to barcodes because they can be read without contact. Smart labels are available for various frequency ranges (HF, UHF, usually 13.56 MHz). They are always useful when customers want additional benefits at low cost.

Fill level tracking

When it comes to packaging containers, fill level tracking can potentially make a difference for customers. Follmann has therefore teamed up with a start-up that develops methods for fill level tracking. This means that companies do not always have to check how much material is left in the container themselves. Instead, the system proactively sends information as soon as the fill level falls below a certain level, the temperature changes or a similar predefined event occurs.

Thermo transports

For the transport of temperature-sensitive materials, we organise thermal transport with our cooperation partners. In doing so, we clarify whether it should be an entire thermal box or semi-trailer or whether thermal covers should be pulled over the products.

Forklift

We also clarify whether forklifts will be taken on the transport because something may need to be unloaded. If so, our transport service providers will provide forklifts on the lorry.

Different packaging, depending on the product range

The packaging of the goods depends entirely on the production area. For example, we often deliver adhesives in bags — our classic hotmelts in big bags, for example.

We mainly deliver printing inks in intermediate bulk containers (IBCs), which are 1,000-litre plastic containers. However, we also have 200-litre drums and other smaller containers that customers can choose from. At Follmann, we endeavour to avoid waste and packaging wherever possible in order to make production as sustainable as possible.

For environmental and climate protection reasons, we therefore rely on

  • the largest possible packaging sizes,
  • big bags or even
  • tankers for deliveries of liquid goods.

New topics, innovations?
Just give them a try!

Where possible, we also deliver directly by tanker, in which case no packaging is necessary.

We focus on sustainable packaging solutions and are always on the lookout for new innovations. Through simulations and dialogue with other start-ups and companies, we keep our finger on the pulse of the times and can strategically develop our location and respond today to the requirements of tomorrow.
